A short home movie produced by Arthur Foreman featuring school children from Middlesbrough taking part in the annual mass participatory country dancing event inside the towns Stewart Park. While the children dance parents and families watch from behind a rope barrier. Inside Stewart Park in Middlesbrough groups of children perform a country dance routine, a woman stands nearby watch while around the edge of the showground crowds watching. A group of young children sitting on the ground get up. They stand in a series of circles around the showground with each circle being watched over by a woman. Some of the children begin to dance with one of the women speaking with the children of her group. A boy and a girl who aren’t dancing stare and smile at the camera. At another part of the showground groups of older children dancing, they are accompanied by some of the adults who were watching over them. Another group of children sit on the grass alongside a women. Around the perimeter of the showground parents of the children stand or sit watching from behind a rope barrier. More dancing follows featuring one of the women taking part. A family standing behind the rope barrier and on seeing the camera filming them smile, amongst them two small children. An older boy sitting in a group on the ground looks at the camera changes to the other side of the barrier where a woman followed by a couple with a small girl smile at the camera. Back on the showground more dancing with the film ending on two small children sitting on the ground with the dancing continuing behind them.
