Memory Bank: Bradford Launch
On 23rd April, we launched Memory Bank: Bradford, a complete reminiscence resource created by us and generously funded by the Harry and Mary Foundation. The special launch event took place at the National Science and Media Museum and included a demonstration of the new resource by Mandy Tennant, our Memory Bank Champion.
This special limited edition book and website has been made available, free of charge, to care homes across the Bradford District, to celebrate Bradford City of Culture 2025. It uses carefully selected archive film footage from across the decades to connect the past with the present, rediscover memories, share stories, and offers the opportunity to simply sit back and enjoy the delights of the films themselves.
The launch event featured lots of happy reminiscing: from sporting fun at Odsal, taking a trolley bus to work, favourite shops, hobbies and everything in between!
Complementary welcome packs are being supplied to care homes across the District, and reminiscence and community groups can enjoy open access to our new resource until the end of 2026.
If you're involved with another type of care setting, such as a dementia cafe or reminiscence group, just get in touch so that we can tell you more about the resource. Contact: Ruth Patman info@yfanefa.com
