This is a short film made by Derrick Walton of a Royal visit to an unknown Lancashire town.
The film begins showing a programme, on which is a picture of the Queen. This is followed by women hurrying up a street that is lined with spectators. In another street of terraced housing a parade marches by led by a marching band and followed by soldiers bearing arms, followed by ex-soldiers. The film then shows three women and a girl in close up. The girls are sitting on a bench. An airplane is shown flying overhead. Back to the street a child talks to a policeman and is joined by another child. There is a view down a street with the pavements lined with people and then a car drives along with the inscription ‘AP’ on the front. A cavalcade of cars and motorcyclists drives by headed by a Rolls Royce flying the Royal flag, and passes through the waving crowds. After it passes the crowd begins to disperse and the film ends showing a Union Jack flag flying in the wind.
