This is a film from the Anne Horner Collection.  The film shows some events in York, with country dancing, the family at home, and some earlier film of people out ice skating. The film begins showing sailing and rowing boats on the River Ouse, with cars parked on the bank.  This is followed by a fireworks display.  Next, there is a traffic policemen walking over a zebra crossing, leading civic dignitaries into a civil ceremony at York Minster.  Here, they are greeted by the Archbishop.  The Mayor gets on a specially built stand, along with other dignitaries, to watch as bands march past on Parliament Street.  This is followed by Morris Dancing in the street at the Castle Museum roundabout in York, the 'Eye of York', with coaches parked in the background, followed by country dancing.  Then the Mayor's Parade, with a horse escort, proceeds down Coney Street and into Saint Helen’s Square, where photos are taken. The film switches to the garden of the family home, before going on to show two women, Anne's mother Marie and her friend Ivy Williamson, out playing golf.  Back in the garden a black poodle, 'Cindy', plays with a ball in the garden.  Anne's father Roy tends to the chrysanthemums growing in the greenhouse, before he then plays ball with the poodle in the garden. The film switches to a school sports day, with a brief shot of some boys racing, before returning to the garden and then to people ice skating outdoors, highlighting one couple in particular, Anne and her uncle Frances, skating around the large outdoor ice area, Rowntree Park (often iced over in winter).  The film finishes with a small child running around some geese.
