This is a film from the Anne Horner Collection, showing the family on holiday in Torquay, with Anne, Brian and baby Sally, and Anne's parents, Roy and Marie Wailes.
The film begins with a woman pushing a pram through a park accompanied by a man. This is followed by footage of a family on a beach, bouncing a Sally up and down on the sand. Two dogs – a black poodle and a white puppy Jack Russell, 'Pippy' – play in front of their holiday accommodation. The mother bounces the baby on her knee. They get into the family car, a Humber (reg. VVY534). Next, they sit on deckchairs in front of white cloth beach huts on the sea front, with steps going into the sea. Then people are out on the beach and paddling in the sea. Cars are parked in front of the Toorak Hotel, and there is a view over the bay and of the many boats.
There is a shot of the town lights at night, before they visit a waterwheel, a country house and a village. Mother paddles in the sea on the beach, and then goes for a swim. 'Pippy' sits with the Sally in her pram, and then plays on the lawn.
Two women are out swimming, and then it is back to the holiday accommodation with some women playing table tennis. Then a large gathering of people watch as a helicopter arrives with Prince Philip. Back on the beach again, the baby sits on a woman’s lap, and grandfather paddles in the sea. The baby watches out from her pram as people play on the beach. They then go swimming in the hotel pool, and then we see seagulls on the sea front. The film ends at the poolside.
