This is one of a collection of promotional films made by the large crane manufacturers, Priestman Brothers of Hull. This is the second part of a film focusing on different kinds of grabs in different uses, with intertitles.
The film begins showing coal being unloaded at Battersea Power Station. Various other grabs are shown at work, including in Sweden, at a colliery, at Fulham Gas Works, from a barge on the Thames, and at British Sugar Beet Corporation, Peterborough, unloading suger beet from railway wagons. Then they are shown at Normanby Park Steel works – John Lysaght and Sons Ltd., unloading scrap metal from railway wagons. There is a long list of companies and organisations using Priestman grabs.
The film finishes back at Battersea Power Station, showing just the two chimneys that it had at that time.
