The film begins showing various fairground rides.  The film demonstrates how the slew rings work, with tapered rollers (Taperex Ltd), engineered by Priestman of Hull.  They are shown being manufactured in the cross ring machine shop, including the process of making and testing.  Then they are shown in action with cranes and other heavy vehicles and manufacturing machines, and also on the new radio telescope at Chew Bolton on Salisbury Plain.
