This is a film from the Anne Horner Collection. The film shows the family at home in Dunnington and focuses on the new born daughter Sally and her older sister Gillian, and some older girls as they go horse riding.
The film begins showing Sally as a baby. First she is sitting in a pram, and then she is sitting in the garden with her cuddly toys. Two older girls give her a wash on the lawn and later give her a ride around the garden in a little buggy.
The film switches to indoors, with the two girls sat on the sofa. Then, with mother, father, Roy and Marie Wells, and grandfather, they are seated around the dining table with their paper hats on for a Christmas breakfast of boiled eggs with HP sauce. Sally sits in her high chair. One of the girls does a dance and they play with their presents.
The film switches back to the garden in summer. Sally, now walking, is playing football with her granddad. Then all the family join in playing ball with the two dogs – a black poodle and a Jack Russell, 'Pippy'. Sally gets a swing from her dad and another older girl. Rachel later plays with a hose pipe in the garden with the older girl. There is a group of girls on horseback. Back in the garden Sallysits on a chair and with her sister finds a small hedgehog. They are in the garden with several girls and other members of the family.
The film switches to two girls both on the same horse. Then a fox hunting party gathers outside a pub. They have their drink and ride off. They stop at one point, seemingly having lost their trail. The film switches back to the family out in a field having a picnic, while two girls riding at a horse riding event, before Sally is back running in the garden. She picks a flower as the film ends.
