The film begins with a boy sharpening an arrow head with a make-shift blade to go onto a spear being used in a school production of an Iron Age film, of which a small excerpt is here shown.  Then the film switches to a senior school girl posing in an 18th century costume.  This is followed by another senior school girl posing in an 18th century costume, with an intertitle superimposed above it: “below the buried vegetation slowly turned to coal”.   Then there is a third senior school girl posing in an 18th century costume, again with an intertitle superimposed above: “so was formed millions of years ago”.
