This film was taken during a school trip to Roundhay Park, Leeds, in May, 1977 on a sunny day.
The school children are walking along the sidewalk, streets and cars on one side and tress on the other. One of the boys jumped in a waste bin, and the other kids gather around and laugh. They make their way around Rounday Park to Barrans Fountain. The teacher is nearby as some of the children drink the water. There is more footage of the park and the school group wonder around the grounds. They pass a man fishing at the water’s edge of the lake, and some of the children stop to watch the ducks swim by. This is followed by footage of the Park’s foliage, lake, and surrounding countryside.
The group move onto explore the castle ruins. Some of them climb to the top and give a “thumbs up” to the cameraman. He then moves to the ground to film the kids as they wave from high up on the ruins. The film then closes with the children racing in the park fields.
