This is a film made by Mexborough Technical College teacher George Spurr of family outing to Scarborough.
The film begins on a very crowded North Beach at Scarborough. Two girls, George's two nieces, walk over to join their family who are sitting in deckchairs. George's brother and nephew, David Tyas, play pitch and put on a course overlooking the bay. They then take a ride on the coastal railway, between Peasholm Park and Scalby Mills, filming part of the journey from behind the driver.
The film then switches to George's brother, niece and nephew on some rocks with a model boat on a stream. George's parents are standing by the sea wall with Scarborough Castle in the distance, and the family down by the shore.
The film returns to the railway journey. George's two sister-in-laws are shown returning to the holiday hotel from the upstairs window. They then go on a sea cruise, with the Victoria Hotel seen behind them, before going to The Mere where the boy and girl get into a canoe. There is a brief shot of them being on the Hispaniola and then walking along a coastal path before stopping to make a brew with a camping stove in a shelter. They then sit down by the sea before walking along by the cliffs and visiting the castle. The film ends with the family having a picnic by their car in a car park.
