This is a film made by Mexborough Technical College teacher George Spurr. The film features his family having a day out at the seaside in Mablethorpe.
The film begins with the family playing cricket on a beach, with the son bowling, mother batting and father as wicket keeper. They go for a swim and pose for a photo. They rest in their deckchairs, behind which there are boat swings. Some small children have donkey rides. A girl aged about 10 years old, possibly the daughter, is one of them.
There is a section of underexposed film, before there are shots of the family sitting on deckchairs with both canvas and wooden beach huts in the background. The film then switches to show a family group walking along a road and past the Seaview car park. Then, returning to the beach, the family members are sitting back in their deckchairs in their coats and blankets, while the son and daughter go on donkey rides.
The film then switches to outside the family home, at 15 Bolton St., Denaby Main, with two girls and an elderly woman on the corner of the street holding hands. They are greeted by a dog and a man in a green waistcoat, possibly the father, poses with one of the girls. Inside the house the film shows a picture on the sideboard of George in an RAF uniform during the war.
