Title – Around Robin Hood’s Bay
The film opens with views of the coastline and footage of the town including the winding streets. Houses and shops can be seen, and two girls walk along the streets. There is more footage of the coastline, though image quality during this portion of the film is poor due to deterioration.
Title – A few tit-bits of Scarborough
Scarborough’s Grand Hotel can be seen overlooking the coastline, and there are people who walk along the beach. A few holidaymakers sit in chairs close to the water, and buildings can be seen along the coastline. Posing for the camera, a little girl and boy stand together and look out to sea.
From atop a hill, the filmmaker captures the harbour and parts of the castle wall. The ocean can be seen in the background while the filmmaker makes his way around the castle ruins.
Rowboats are lined up in the water, and men pull a row boat into the ocean. The men stand and pose for the camera, and following this, there is footage of a family on a crowded beach. Many of the people on the beach are dressed in every-day clothing, and women can be seen sitting in deck chairs. Some people play in the water. Two women and a little girl walk by the ocean and towards the camera. A family has a picnic near the sea wall, and there are many different shots of the holidaymakers on the beach including some who play with a dog.
The next section of the film includes footage of the coastline and the Italian Gardens. There are many shots of the landscaped garden, and people can be seen making their way along the paths and admiring the plants. The filmmaker moves onto the open-air swimming pool, and there are additional shots of the harbour and coastline towards the castle.
The film ends with a group of people having a picnic. They are set up on the grass overlooking the ocean. The filmmaker focuses on individual members of the group who in turn smile for the camera. One man is lounging on a blanket, and there are many glass bottles around him.
