This film documents a gymnastics class at Keighley Girls Grammar School. Inside the school gym, a class of girls in blue t-shirts and shorts run and leap past the camera, before all halting at once.  Girls leap, summersault, and tumble on the floor. A beam and exercise mats have been set up within sight of the camera. Three girls leap on to and over the beam before summersaulting in a row back in line with the beam. The girl in the middle of the row summersaults onto the beam and stands there while the other two raise the beam and swing it back and forth. The girl on the beam summersaults off before assuming a backwards crab position, the two girls holding the beam use the beam to help her stand upright. The girl nearest the camera swaps places with the girl in the middle, is swung off the beam, performs a handstand with her feet coming to rest on the raised beam and is lowered with the beam. She summersaults over it and takes the place of the girl holding the far end of the beam. The girls tumble around the floor and over the beam and another girl joins them. Two of the girls hold the ends of the beam while the other two summersault over it before the pairs swap places. Two of the girls stand at the far end of the beam, one flips over the other, and both facing one another astride the beam before lowering their arms and torso to they can hold on to the beam. The other two girls summersault over their arms. One girl raises her end of the beam and two girls summersault down it. The other girl raises her end of the beam and the girls summersault away down the slope. All four summersault off the beam and around it. Three of the girls raise their legs high in the air and the fourth girl vaults over them. The mat and beams have gone. Two girls tumble about on the floor. The beam and mats return, the four girls stand in each corner of the mats and summersault onto and over the beam. Two girls stand astride the beam, supporting the other two as they tumble over it. Two girls support the beam on their legs, and the other two summersault over it. The two girls relieve the others of the beam and carry it to a different position, with one girl hanging upside down from it. One girl supports an end on the beam on her knees and another summersaults up the gradient before flipping over the end. Two girls raise the beam to shoulder height, while one of the remaining girls climbs on the other’s shoulders and on to the beam. The mat and beams have gone. The four girls tumble about on the floor. Mats and various vaulting horses have been placed on the floor and the class of girls take turns vaulting and leaping over and summersaulting across the horses. One girl performs various exercises and leaps over a vaulting horses. She summersaults onto and off the horse, performs handstands on the horse. The girls take it in turns jumping over a vaulting horse and then onto and over another two horses in succession. Several girls are posed on two of the vaulting horses, one girl balancing on one of the handles of a vaulting horse, three others create a bridge across the gap between the horses, and others kneel on the other horse. The rest of the class vault the gap between the horses, between the legs of one of the girls on the bridge and summersault into a row in front of the horses, the other girls dismount from the horses and join them in the row.
