This film features students from the Blenheim Boys School in Leeds as they take part in rugby matches as well as school outings in the countryside and a sports day.
The film opens with a rugby match being played on a field surrounded by trees. Players run up and down the field, and a small boy grabs the ball from a scrum. The film captures more action from the game, and there are spectators which line the filed. After the game, the team poses for a group shot - the formation, back row standing with folded arms, and the front row kneeing, one arm on their knees.
This is followed by more rugby, the camera watching the game from a distance. The field adjacent to the rugby is full of sheep. The filmmaker moves closer to the action, and the players and referee all run in the same direction in front of the camera. One of the players catches the ball and is tackled, and a spectator walks in front of the camera. Houses are visible along one side of the playing field. Much of the game action is captured including lots of running after the ball, throwing the ball to other players, scrums and tackles. At the corner of the field, near the line of houses, players all run across in front of the camera. Someone is tackled just in view of the camera. Two players are relaxing on the ground, one holding the ball, the rest of the team are standing around them, chatting. Boy walks around pitch without his shirt on, back covered in mud, which he tries to look at.
In the middle of the field, one boy passing ball back to team. One boy runs towards the camera with the ball and throws it down. Players chase after boy with the ball, and one falls over. The player dodges around opposing team but is ambushed. Later, one of the players scores a try. After the match has finished, the players change at the side of the field, some in shelter of pavilion.
Out in the countryside, there are trees and dry stone walls along the edge of a path. The boys are being shepherded through gate by teacher, walking in a line, three or four deep towards camera. AT Brimham Rocks, the students climb about. The boys stand on top of one of the formations where they look towards the camera. More boys stand triumphantly on top of another formation. Later, the entire school group gathers on another area of rock, sitting at varying levels, some braced between cracks in the rocks. They all wave to the camera.
Next the boys go swimming in the lake, and others paddle about. A group of swimmers smile for the camera. After swimming, the boys stand on the riverbank, and a bridge and buildings are half visible behind them. The camera pans across revealing more houses and teachers watching students who turn and smile at the camera. There is a group of three teachers, smoking and looking at the camera, and boys gather in behind them to look at the camera.
The last portion of the film features a school sports day. Athletes race around a track, and spectators are at the side-lines with school flags. A group of students in shorts, and shirts or jumpers walk towards the camera. Finally, boys are lined up to start a race, and they are off.
