Featuring students from Bootham School, this film documents a natural history trip to the Isle of Wight, where the students explored the countryside, towns, nature reserves and Osborne hose. A running commentary is provided throughout.
The film opens with a shot of tourists carrying backpacks crossing a bridge. There is then a shot of a sign that reads, 'Waveney district council. Warning do not climb or swim near to this Grove'. Shots show students on the beach and the filmmaker gets a close up of one of the boys who make a funny face at the camera. A scarlet sunset is followed by views of birds wading along the beach and waves lapping across the sand. Some trick photography is then employed as a student lies beside a grave stone and then promptly vanishes from view. An exterior of a cathedral is followed by views of a seaside town. A shot then captures a sign that reads, 'National Nature reserve - Walberswick'.
On a bus, a view from the back shows the cars following along a road, and then students can be seen jumping around in the back of the bus. Again trick photography is used to make a tent disappear and a seemingly endless amount of students enter the tent. The next shot then shows the entrance to, 'Butterfly World', and there are views of a Japanese garden, close up of butterflies and other plants.
A wide view shows an expansive stretch of water filled with boats, before there is a close up of a street sign that reads, 'Bembridge'. Students hike thorough a field and there is a lengthy sequence that shows close ups of different plants and insects. From an elevated position, a lighthouse can be seen nestled amounts some white cliffs just out to sea. Again there is a sequence that displays plants and flowers.
The next sequence features views of the grounds at Osborne house, Isle of Wight, which include fountains and pristine gardens. Views of the exterior of the house are followed by a shot of the sign which reads, 'Welcome to Osborne House'. Another sign is then shown that reads, 'Beeper farm'.
The next sequence opens with a bus ride down a busy road, before there are views of a port filled with commercial boats as they navigate the waters. The closes with a shot taken from the front of a coach as it follows traffic.
