Title - Geomorphology - 1. Gravel Plateaux. 2. Clays & Loams.
The filmmaker captures a gravel path running along the side of a main road, before showing two horses grazing in a field with a cross in the background. There are then several views of roads and paths running through green fields and hills. Several people, including a man holding a baby, walk towards a stone fixture on a road side, and this is followed by shots of all stone arches that envelope a pristine garden. The sequence closes with shots of a river bank; people move down to the banks where boats are moored in the calm waters.
Title - Forestry.
A map of the New Forest area shows major towns and villages across the region, and the map is animated with patches of green, serving to highlight specific enclosures. More horses are shown grazing in a field, before a sequence shows the shrubbery and horticulture in a wooded enclave. A view of some logging work is shown, with people of wood and machinery such as tractors on site.
Title - Commoners' rights.
The map returns and is this time dotted with yellow patches which highlight areas of open woodland. The filmmaker proceeds to focus on animals in the region; horses and calf's roam across a field, cows graze and rest in the sun, and swans and ducks prune themselves on the banks of a lake.
Title - Public Access.
The map returns again and animates blue patches across its surface, which highlights areas private land.
A convoys of coaches zip down a dual carriage way lined by trees. There are then shots of insects such as dragonflies on a lake. On a plain board, examples of insects begin to appear, and each is labelled under the heading of, 'Tabanidae'. A brief shot shows a large spider on top of its web, before there are shots of a lake inhabited by swans, ducks and seagulls. A brief shot captures a squirrel enjoying a nut, before there are views of tourists sitting by their car eating lunch while horses stand around hopefully.
Title - The end.
Title - The New Forest July 1967.
The film re-opens (opens - with regard to the original intended narrative) with a map of the south east coast of England and the area of the New Forest is outlined using an animation.
Title - Geomorphology - 1. Gravel Plateaux.
The sequence begins with a panning view of wide stretches of open country of the New Forest, before a shot shows horses on the edge of a river bank. Cars travel down a street in the centre of a busy town and this is followed by shots of another road, which has a sign in the foreground that reads, 'The New Forest - Watch for animals'. A New Forest campsite is next; there are views of the caravan site, camping site and the many facilities. The filmmaker then uses a wide shot to capture the exterior of the 'Blamer Lawn hotel'. A close up of a sign reads, 'Forestry Commission - Take care, do not start a fire'. The sequence concludes with more shots of verdant fields and roads; many of the shots contain industrial sites visible off in the distance.
Title - Flora and Fauna.
The film concludes with various views of the flowers indigenous to the New Forest region.
