This film documents a trip taken by pupils from the all-girls school, the Mount, York, taking a trip to Cober Hill, Cloughton. There are views of the students having lessons in the seaside residence and very brief section that shows a beach excursion.
The film opens with a shot of wave's lapping over the shores of a sandy beach. A close up of a street sign reads, 'Scarborough 6, Cloughton, Ravcenscar 6, London 243 ?. Safety first'. There are then several sweeping views of houses nestled amongst the fields of Cloughton and a grand house set on a hill. A close up of a hand painted sign then reads, 'This Bridge is not strong. Not more than two persons may be on it at once - please walk'.
Schoolgirls in uniform then cross the bridge in pairs before running down a country path. A shot then shows a building with a conservatory. Inside the conservatory, Schoolgirls are working at various desks and are dissecting dead animals while a cat skirts the room with curiosity. A shot then shows the girls having breakfast round a long dining table with a silver haired woman sat at the head of the table.
The next sequence opens with a woman wearing a red hat cycling past the camera. The filmmaker then captures some of the girls and teachers sipping tea within the Cober Hill grounds. The girls, now wearing long winter coats, traverse the verdant cliffs overlooking the sea. On a rocky beach, the girls stop and point out to sea before they go and clamber over the rocks.
The girls clamour around a window and other students look at them from inside. A woman wearing an apron exits the building and discovers the girls peering in through the window and shoos them away. A brief shot shows a door that has 'Court green' painted on it.
The students, carrying cases and music equipment, then walk down a sloping path and enter another building. The next shows the girls trying to catch frogs in the pond and a teacher holding up a glass jar that contains a frog. A brief view shows the girls doing exercises outside and the final shot of the film shows a group of girls walking through a field - away form the camera.
