Title - A Javelin Production
A DMU passes on the far side of a football field, followed by the steam loco, the 'Green Arrow' (4771), pulling a passenger train coming along a line branching off in the other direction. The train seems to be full of railway enthusiasts. Some boys are train spotting at York Station as two diesel engines pass by (D274). Many more diesel units are filmed in the station before 'The Flying Scotsman' comes steaming through. There is a sign for the Keighley and Worth Valley Light Railway. At the Keighley and Worth Valley Light Railway Museum a notice board gives the fare charges as adults 1/- and children 5d. Railway enthusiasts watch from the trackside as the train passes and stops at the station. Other steam and diesel locos are in the sidings, including loco 4744.
The train makes its way back on the return journey. Another loco that can be seen is 46115. A ride is taken on the 'Bahamas' (5596), newly painted bright red. Another small and old loco, also painted bright red has 'Jacob biscuit factory Aintree' painted on the side. There is also a green engine 'Nunlow', with lots of people watching and taking photos, possibly at York Station.
'The Flying Scotsman' is seen again leaving, as is also the 'Mayflower' (1306). There is a sign for Embsay Station. Loco 69023 is seen, and also a miniature railway with old carriages, being propelled by a green loco, NCB No 5 Area York No 1. The loco is filmed close up with the front open and the boiler being cleaned. On a wall is an advertising poster for the North Eastern Railway, and there is a name plate for a locomotive named 'Joem' in 1966. There is also a poster for the Tramway Museum on the wall of the ticket office.
