Title-Highland Games
The film opens with a shot of a statue which is located beside a loch and then the camera pans from the top of a big building right down to the bottom.
The voiceover says that the war memorial is a soldier from the Southern Highlanders and he has his back to Loch Finn.
In the following scene is a sign which reads `Inveraray Highland Games, 17 July 1973'.
The next shot is taken from the top of a hill looking down onto Inverary Castle and then it cuts to a shot of another poster which reads `Inverary Highland Games, Winterton Park, Inverary, Tuesday 17th July 1973'.
In Winterton Park, a Scottish marching band makes their way along past the spectators; there are lots of young children dressed in kilts marching behind the band. On one stage the children do Highland Dancing, while in another section of the park, the marching band march in formation.
In another section of the park are the athletic competitions and many spectators have gathered around the competition sites. A couple of young girls in Highland Dancing clothes come off the stage and run over to their parents. Men compete in a variety of competitions including running, the stone put, hammer throw, weight throw, and the tug-of-war, which according to the voiceover, is between the RAF and an American team.
Another group of men, women and children take part in a bagpipe playing competition. There are lots of shots of the spectators watching the various events.
