This is a film made by William Smith of a family holiday in Scarborough.
The film begins with view of the sea at Scarborough (for the first minute or so there are patches of deterioration in the film). Some ladies are playing on a putting green, view of the South Bay, with castle, in the background. Boats moored in the dock. There is a fairground, with twin capsules (a dive-bomber). Cars going around a roundabout, where there is the 'Roundabout Milk Bar'. Behind this is the fair, with Helter Skelter, and a pier in the background. People are sunbathing on the beach on the South Bay, and swimming in the sea. A group go by in a small boat, and the coast is filmed from on a pleasure boat out at sea. The harbour and lighthouse are seen in the distance through a gap in some trees. There is a large number of sailing small boats out at sea. The waves beat against the sea walls. Holidaymakers are out on rowing and paddle boats on the lake at Peasholme Park. A boat comes down a water shoot, and there is a large bank of seating. The film finishes showing the miniature railway passing by packed with passengers.
