This film, made by West Yorkshire Police, contains rushes from a fictional drama made about the police operations during a search for missing children. As rushes, the narrative is out of order (although the intended story is clearly evident) and many scenes are re-taken several times.
The film starts in an open air market where two female police officers enter shot and talk to a stall owner, showing her a photo. The two officers then move through an outdoor fair. Walking past a merry go round, they stop another man and show him the photo.
The next sequence opens with a man in a leather jacket clapping a clapper board and the camera captures two children messing around in a junk yard. The youngsters then get into the boot of a wrecked car and close the lid. A policeman searches through the junkyard with an Alsatian dog at his heel, and, after the canine alerts to the boot, he opens it find the children (again there are many takes).
The next sequence features a group of policemen standing round a red van, being talked through the operation by a senior officer, who points a stick at a map. A close up shows the map, followed by a close up of a photo of two missing children from the junkyard scene. The photo is then given to an officer on horseback, before a shot captures a group of officers searching a grassy verge. The next shot shows officers looking out over an expanse of water, before more shots show the search, with officers combing through the dense greenery. The film concludes with a canine officer following the Alsatian.
Start of reel two continues with the officers, including mounted units, searching through fields. There is then a view of a stretch of water with a power station in the background. More views show the mounted units searching the area. The officers then begin to search the junkyard and there close ups of the officer's faces and a shot of an officer making a call over the radio. An Alsatian then trots down a set of stairs, and the action is re-taken several times.
The following sequence opens with an officer searching dense bushes using a staff to clear it. The Alsatian searches a hilly verge before returning to its handlers. A shot the captures the officer taking the canine from the patrol car, and this followed by a rider leading its horse from a horse box.
The final sequence shows the mother of the missing children standing outside her home. A shot shows a broken fence in her back garden, before a view facing the same direction shows lake, power station and the junkyard off further in the distance. The mother stands in a red phone box making a call to police, and the final shot shows a police travelling a speed through a town.
