Film opens with groups of men standing around talking; one of the men is in front of the camera talking to the motor cyclist Geoff Duke. Men tinker with their bikes, as well as preparing themselves for the race by pulling on waterproof trousers and overalls and zipping up their pockets. Some of the judges walk around with clip boards and take notes while standing beside some of the motor cyclists.
One of the competitors starts the race and rides out from the middle of a crowd of people and into a stream. One of the competitors gets stuck in the middle of the water and warns the next rider who starts to cross the river.
In the next section the competitors ride along a very muddy road, some of them getting stuck, and then they make their way carefully down a steep hill. They make their ways along other muddy stream beds, pushing themselves with one foot while spectators line the route. There are more shots of the competitors making their way down the steep hill and some of the men fall over. One man keeps sliding down and needs the help of several judges.
The final shot is of a man riding through a muddy stream and then two men riding up a grassy hill and off into the distance.
