A Morris motorcar drives down a street and pulls up to the pavement. There is a close up of the car badge, which reads ‘Morris’. The driver then opens the passenger door and a shot shows the sign outside which reads, ‘Bradford Road post office’. The driver then exits wearing a long winter coat and trilby. He drops a copy of the Yorkshire Post on the ground, and a close up reveals that the paper is from the 2nd of March, 1945. The man picks up the newspaper and heads inside the post officer.
At the counter, the man counts out his change and close ups show the coins being taken and exchanged for a stamp. The man then exits the post officer and walks to a post box, where a close up shows a sign detailing times of collections. The man points his finer to the 11.15 time, before placing the stamp on the envelope. Before he puts the letter in the post box, a close up shows the address and stamps. The man then drops the letter in the box and moves to his car, where he lights a cigarette before buttoning his jacket, putting on his driving gloves, starting the ignition, shifting into gear and eventually driving off, with the number plate clearly in focus. The postman then drives up to the post box and gets out, placing the letters into his sack.
