The voiceover begins by stating that motocross is one of the toughest sports in the world. The camera is at the side of a track as lots of riders drive by at speed, kicking up lots of dust and then the scene changes to the open course where the riders go over humps along the route. The voiceover says that the riders have to combine nerves of a grand prix driver with the physicality of an athlete.
In the next sequence are shots of riders back on an enclosed track, out on a course jumping over fences and in the forests riding along tracks. The voiceover goes on to say that scientists have proven that it is one of the most physically demanding sports and that the riders need to train a lot in order to hone their skills. He also says that nowadays the sport is worth great money to the riders and the manufacturers. This is followed by a long sequence of shots of the motocross riders going over humps, down muddy tracks, along forest routes with close ups of the wheels, feet and engines.
The voiceover describes the popularity of the events for spectators saying that they are held all over Europe, there is a fairground atmosphere and usually lots of good looking women about.
He talks about Roger De Costa, Belgium Suzuki Team Leader, who has been world champion five times. In an interview with him they ask how have things changed and he says that it has become more competitive and professional in the past few years.
In the next section the voiceover talks about Honda team star Brad Lackey from USA. In an interview they ask if his dreams of becoming World Champion are coming nearer. He replies that he gets better every year. There are more interview shots as well as many shots from various parts of the course and the spectators.
The voiceover then talks about Finnish World Champion, Heikki Mikkola, and finishes up with shots of him coming first in the race and getting up onto the winner's podium. The voiceover asks what type of track he likes and he replies saying grass.
In the next section the voiceover talks about the bike experts that are on hand to help out with any problems and he also talks about the new models that come out all of the time. There are shots of the mechanics and riders checking bike parts.
Following this are shots of the busy events days with stalls, signings by the riders and promotions women. The voiceover says there is a carnival atmosphere and there is a brief shot of majorettes lined up with a brass band.
In a race track near Turin in Italy, the riders come out and parade in front of the spectators. They shake hands with the organising club and national federation. There are shots of the huge crowd and then the race starts. Mikkola falls off his bike some time into the race but he manages to win anyway. There are many shots following him along the course including some point of view shots from the front of a bike.
The film continues on with footage from races in California, England and Austria. There are more shots from the tracks and the voiceover list all of the countries that Mikkola won first place including California, Holland and Belgium.
The last major event is at the Citadel Circuit at La Muir. The next section follows this entire race with commentary throughout. Mikkola wins the race and the voiceover informs us that this makes it his third world Championship. There is a big barbeque organised after the races are over and riders and fans stand around have food, drinks and chat. The final shots are of several barriers going down at the start of a race.
