Title-A C.H. Wood Production.
The first shot is a close-up of an alarm clock, and this is followed by a shot of a teenage boy asleep in bed. His mother calls him and tells him to get up for school or he will be late. The teenager wakes up, rubs his head, and shields his eyes from the sun when his mother opens the curtains. He reaches beside his bed and picks up a motorcycle helmet which he puts on and gets out of bed.
At the start of the next scene a pair of booted feet come down the stairs and out the door. There are close-ups of the feet until he walks towards his parked moped, and we see that he has his pyjamas on. He uncovers his moped and is about to drive out of the driveway when a voice shouts `stop' and when David asks `why', the voice says because he hasn't carried out his daily checks.
The voiceover says that every time that you go to ride your moped carry out some checks. He says to check the oil and petrol and the boys does that. Then check the tyres are fully inflated, and the boy squeezes the tyre and then to check that there are no cuts or stones in the tyres. He does this check for the back wheel too. The check continues with the voiceover saying to start the engine, check the lights, and the breaks and the boy carries all of these checks out. Then he rides away in his pyjamas.
Following this, the voiceover says that once a week a more thorough check should be carried out. He says to check the wheel turns correctly, the tyre pressure is correct, the spokes are not broken, the wheel nuts are tight, the break wires are at the correct tension, the chain is not too loose, oil the various cables, check the oil in the transmission case, check the spark plugs, the steering head, the saddle, the horn, the headlamps, to make sure they are all working properly and secure. The young man in a white coat carries out all of these checks.
The scene cuts to the teenager coming out of his house wearing the correct clothing and reflector jacket. The voice over says to always wear the correct clothing and to always carry out the checks; the teenager then goes through them all again and rides off.
