This is a film from the Taylor family collection. It shows the family flying on their own water plane in Norway, and on holiday in Glenton Vale, where they go fishing. There is also film of women doing a fundraising run.
A family group have arrived at a holiday destination near a stretch of water in their cars with their baggage. A commercial plane comes in low to land over a body of water. A couple carry their belongings down to the waterside where there are several jetties with sea planes (one of them 'LN-RAH'). A commercial plane takes off from the airfield next to the water, possibly at Stavanger. Their son stands near their plane ('LN-BDS') being cleaned by his father. His wife and another woman arrive and they take off in the plane piloted by the man. On their return he cleans a part of the plane, and walks off to a building of the 'Oslo FlyKlubb'.
The next film is taken from on board the plane in flight, as it flies over the fjords, focusing in particular on a small island with a large flag pole. Back on the water, the father, now in a pilot's uniform, returns to the plane, and they take another flight over the local area. They land back on the water and again fly along the coast. Moored on some water, the woman sits on some rocks and smiles for the camera. Her husband puts his pilot's uniform back on.
The film switches to a village, with the sign for 'Maridalsveien'. Two women are sitting on the doorstep of a house with two children. Then there is more film of the coast and fjords taken from the plane in flight. Back on the ground, the two women are sitting on rocks on the water's edge talking. The plane is shown taking off from the water. The family are then relaxing in their holiday home. From there the plane can be seen coming in to land. A group of people have gathered by the water's edge where the plane is moored. Luggage is loaded onto the plane, which takes off and is seen to land again.
The film switches to a woman walking across a field carrying a hunting rifle. Back at their holiday home, presumably in Glenton Vale, the man is fanning a barbecue. There is then a view of a large country house with cars parked in the grounds. A woman gets out of an Audi car ('Y' reg) and has a walk around the grounds. The film then switches to a snowy landscape of fields and trees, before returning back to the house where there are several vehicles being loaded up with fishing gear. Now down by a river, they unpack their gear and put on their fishing clothing. A woman puts on her long wading boots, together with her father and her son. They sort through their collection of fly fishing flies. She is then out in the river fishing.
Back at the holiday house the woman plays with her dog, and takes it for a walk in the nearby field, before returning to the house. Their friend (or relation), plays at being a Country Lord. The film moves back again to winter, when a woman goes off tobogganing on the snow in her duffle coat and with a dog. She is joined by a man. With snow now gone, the woman comes out of the house wearing ice skates and goes down to a frozen pond, over which she skates.
Now in the summer, a group of women are gathered outside a sports building in shorts and tea shirts with 'Indus' printed on them. They then go off on a run around the field, possibly for charity. Back at the house in Glenton Vale a boy is preparing another barbecue. He is joined by his mother and they play with several dogs. They are joined by the grandfather and the film comes to an end.
