This is a film from the Taylor family collection. It shows the family going on a fishing holiday in Ireland, and on the River Ribble.
Two men are getting changed into their fishing gear at the side of a lake. They wade into the water and go out onto the lake on a rowing boat. They gather sticks and make a fire next to the lake. One of the men fills a kettle with water from the lake and puts it on the fire, and they settle down to eat and drink. On the boat one of the fishermen shows off a float. He is then out on a boat on very choppy water, and passes under a bridge. Back with his car he plays with a small puppy. Then out on the boat again he shows off a fish he has caught. The area around the holiday house where they are staying, next to a lake, is shown. Out on the boat the fishermen show off the meal they have prepared. They go back to the boat shed and then back out onto the water again.
The film switches to two men driving over a long flat stretch of beach with the tide out. They get out and play about on the sand before fishing in the sea. A man is fishing stood in a river next to some waterfalls. More men are fishing on another stretch of the river. A man catches a fish just using a very big hook.
People have gathered in the car park of a large house. The surrounding countryside and a river can be seen from the top of the house. Two men go on a rowing boat along the river and then go fishing. There is a lot of film of a puppy dog. Mrs Taylor carries the dog out of her house through the garden and puts it in the e-type jag. The dog runs around the garden. Inside the house a man and a boy prepare the dining room. Mrs Taylor arrives. Food is passed through a serving hatch and people sit down to eat. The boy goes out into the garden wearing a paper hat, with his new Action Man, which he slings up into the air, coming down on a parachute. Two men go fishing. One of them threads line onto his fishing rod. He gets his maggots out and goes fishing on a river. Mrs Taylor takes the dog for a walk. Later, with snow on the ground, the dog runs about in the field at the back of the house.
Mr Taylor drives out to a snowy hill with his skis. As he comes down a hill a gritting lorry goes past. There are other skiers out on the snow-covered fields.
