This is a film from the Taylor family collection. It shows the family going on a fishing holiday in Ireland, Scotland and at home.
A father and son pack the boot of their car with camping equipment from their semi-detached suburban house. They journey to a lake to go fishing with two other men. They go out onto the lake on a rowing boat and go fishing. Back on the shore they make a fire. Then a man and two women, possibly father and daughters, arrive at the 'National Hotel', before walking across a field with fishing rods. They make their way down the rock face to the water's edge, where the man, possibly her father, shows one of the women how to cast. She shows off a fish she has caught. They then arrive at a small village for more fishing. A group of them, including two children, get onto a boat where the father puts in an outboard motor. They are then seen coming out of their hotel, before having a picnic in a field. After some horse play, they walk across fields to fish in a lake or sea inlet, with a sandy shore. Next they are out on a boat fishing, and then picnicking on the shore, before travelling along the coast and fish on a boat.
The film then switches back to their family home. A woman is with a baby in a pram. There is a large gathering with several cars preparing to go on a holiday. One of the men horses about with a woman's wig. A coastline is shown from up on a cliff. A couple are dressed up for an event. A man comes into shore on a rowing boat, and two men go down to the water's edge with their fishing gear, and other members of the family are present.
The film switches to a dock, where a ship is moored, the 'Princess', with Antrim and Stranraer written on the side. A woman, Mrs Taylor, comes out of her large semi-detached house, into the back garden and puts some bags into the boot of an e-type Jaguar. She is next seen stood in front of a large stately house. A man places some fishing bait onto a line, and a group of men are flying model aeroplanes in a field. They are joined by a woman with a small child. A woman comes out of the King's Arms pub and gets into the e-type Jag. She is then walking near a river next to fields and woods in the snow. Elsewhere a family arrives in a car, with the man going out to the fields to fly a model aeroplane.
The film switches to two men fishing on a canal, and a woman with them eating. They show off a fish they have caught, after they have knocked it out. It is then back again to the man flying the model aeroplane. Out on a snow covered field, a group of men are laying a large sheet of plastic on the ground. One of them is skating on the ice. A man just returned from fishing shows off two large fish he has caught, before loading them into the back of the e-type Jag. A man is loading bait onto his fishing rod on a boat on the lake. A man and a woman walk around the edge of the lake. Where the lake meets a river, there are some barns and a mill house, and a bull terrier runs around.
