This film comes from the Bradford College Collection and follows the process of dyeing and drying woollen cloth using various machines.
The film opens with two men standing beside a large dyeing and material processing machine; they line up a sheet of material along a bar and then thread it into the machine. A button is pressed and the material is pulled from the bar onto a flat section and from there into the machine.
There are some close up shots of the machine parts including large, chains with needles on them. The two men wait for the material to appear at one end of the machine and then lay the piece on another roller where it is laid out in neat folds.
A sign reads `Winch-type vessel. For the dyeing and processing of woollen and worsted piece-goods'.
The next shots are from a different machine where material is run across large rollers and washed. The older man then pulls the wet material from the rollers and puts it into a large drum to dry it; he closes and secures the lid and switches it on.
The final shot is from an upper window of the college and looks down onto a derelict site which will be used for the construction of an extension.
