This film from the Bradford College Collection includes footage of a baking and a doll making class. It also includes shots of the facilities and equipmment available at the college. The film opens in a kitchen where a student is removing the whisk from an electric mixer; beside her is a bowl of cake mixture. Another student is spreading oil on the bottom of a cake tin and in the next shot a different student is cleaning down the kitchen work area. The next shot is taken from one side of the kitchen counter looking at two of the women putting the cake mixture into two tins. In another shot, a student stirs chocolate cake mixture in a bowl; all around her are cooling trays, tins and bowls. In another room a woman in a work smock puts a cleaning substance onto a cloth and rubs it onto a wooden unit; she polishes it thoroughly. Then she moves onto a wooden dining room table where she arranges a flower or two in a vase. Back in the kitchen one of the women takes the cakes out of the oven while the rest of the students clean their work stations. They scrub the ovens, wash and dry the utensils and clean down the work tops; two of the students at the back of the class stand and stare at the camera. The next scene opens with a half-made doll lying on a work top and a student holding a pattern up to the doll. She moves the doll onto the sewing machine and then the shot cuts to the young woman holding another completed doll up beside it. She talks to someone behind the camera and then laughs.
