This film contains footage of Hunslet Boys Club on a rugby league trip to France in 1981. There are shots of the team travelling through different parts of France; a shot of the Eiffel Tower, the rugby matches, visiting an out of season ski resort, and stopping at an wine making area called Beaumes de Venise. The club was established in 1940 by Dr. J. Wyllie as a way of offering young people the chance to improve their skills in areas such as sports, crafts, karate, and IT.
The team bus is parked at the side of the road. A sign with `Port Halifax R.L.F.C Hunslet Boys Club' is visible in the back window. Inside the bus the players and their managers a wave and smile at the camera. Next all of the players are asleep on the bus as they pass the Eiffel Tower in the distance.
A sign with `Stade Municipal La Roserdie' is visible; it is located just outside of Angers in France.
The players sit on the grass listening to the manager. They get into a group for a photograph. The team has a small practice with a rugby ball, and in the next shot, the team are in their kit heading out onto the pitch for a team photograph. The other team files out and they greet each other before starting the match.
The Hunslet team win the match, and there is a brief shot of two young men fighting or play fighting in the stands. The captain receives the trophy and pretends to drink from it. Finally the teams file off the pitch.
At a later stage, another match is played, and one of the players is helped off the pitch, holding his jaw. There is a shot of an ambulance leaving the pitch.
The team bus drives through the countryside, and trees and mountains are visible in the background. Some of the players get off the bus to relieve themselves at the side of the road and the bus driver drives off a short distance so that the players have to run after it. They drive through mountains with snow-covered peaks and pass signs for `Ski Service' and `Le Mont Serein'. Later, the young men walk around a town. Some of them wave at camera.
Back on the bus and they pass a sign for `Vacoufvras at Ses Vins'. The bus stops at `Beaumes de Venise' where some meat is being roasted on spits. The film closes as some of the players jump into a swimming pool.
