Title - Cinefanatic
The film begins with a group of people making their way up some stairs to where there is a 'Cine Sale'. In a room two men are sitting behind a desk, with one of them telling them about the items on auction on tables in front of him. The first item goes under the hammer with furious bidding, followed by the next and the next, with two men in the front row trying to outbid each other. Eventually the younger man, smoking his pipe, buys the lot and leaves to applause. He goes off to make his 'first film'.
This he then sets up to show at the cine club, with comical incidents along the way, showing his amateurishness. The titles come up: 'Produced by A Learner', 'Photographed by A Learner'. He projects the film, while two members of the audience having a kiss in the front row. The film is of Halifax city centre but is accidently filmed in part sideways on and upside down. The camera is very unsteady and film is superimposed one layer on top of another. The smoke comes out of the projector, with the audience getting hot and flustered. Eventually only one man is left, fast asleep topless in his scarf.
