E R Hardy presents - Linton
The film gives a tour of various views of Linton, showing the three bridges over Linton Beck, the road bridge, dated 1892, the packhorse bridge, and a footbridge. There are ducklings on the Beck. The club members visit the Fountaine Inn, with its sign advertising Theakston, though declaring it a 'Free House'. The narration gives an account of Richard Fountaine and shows the Fountaine Hospital, an 18th century alms-house. Work is being to the roof. After seeing some cottages the film crosses the packhorse bridge to the youth hostel and a column which commemorates an award for the prettiest village in the north, in 1949. It then shows Linton Hall, and the film comes to an end.
