A steam train passes through Beauchief Railway Station and past a large industrial works, before arriving at Sheffield Victoria. Other steam and electric engines pass through the Station. A steam engine backs on to some waiting carriages. There is a brief scene of Sheffield city centre, possibly looking down Fargate. Then back to Sheffield Victoria Railway Station, and a shunting engine is pulling a train of coal, and other freight trains pass through. Next at Rotherham Masborough Station, a steam train arrives. At a large marshalling yard, possibly Tinsley a diesel shunting engine is at work.
This is followed by a sign for 'Bluebell Railway Sheffield Park Station' where a crowd have gathered to watch the arrival of an old steam engine, the 'Stepney' pulling a train, which is re-filled with water. On the side of the old carriages, a sign states, 'Horsted Keynes'. Loaded with passengers, the train gets underway with a similar engine at the rear, the 'Primrose'. On the fence at a railway station there is an old advertising sign for 'Will's Gold Flake'. Two more steam engines are stood here: the 'Bluebell' 323 and the 488. Other advertisements signs include one for Castrol motor oil. The film closes on a sign for 'Bluebell Railway Preservation Society'.
