This film documents the process whereby fresh milk is made into pasteurised milk, and packaged by Nestle to create their globally popular 'Milkmaid' product.

The man squeezes the teats to extract the milk into a bucket.
Title - The milk is passed over a water cooler into churns, which are taken on the company's lorries to the Condensery.
The condenser is then captured by the filmmaker; a large mechanical machine expels milk, which trickles down several rollers and passes into a milk churn with the words 'Nestle' embossed on it.

From an elevated position, the factory forecourt is shown and there are several trucks parked up heaving with milk churns. Empty milk churns are also scattered across the loading area. A worker then loads milk churns onto a lane of runners, which is used to carry the milk churns into the factory.
Title - The milk is tipped into a tank and automatically weighed.
The milk churns are emptied into tanks, the contents of which is then weighed and recorded by an employee.
Title - It is then pumped into large aluminium tanks.
Sweeping shot captures the aluminium tubs, which are empty at present.
Title - The condenser laboratory milk is tester scientifically for purity and quality.
In a chemistry room, several men wearing white jackets exam the milk using various instruments.
Title - Staff chemists at work.
A chemist fills a small bottle with milk. Another chemist analyses the milk using a telescope.
Title - The fresh milk undergoes pasteurisation process.
An engineer checks a series of pipes.
Title - Highly refined sugar is the only addition to Milkmaid Milk.
A man pushes a large sack up to a chute.
Title - Sugar passing down chute to a sugar pan.
The filmmaker captures the sugar being emptied into the sugar pan from the other side of the chute.
Title - And is then drawn with milk to vacuum pans where condensation at low temperatures takes place. Process ensures retention of valuable vitamins and milk salts.
Two workers wearing white overalls turn several wheels as the filmmaker pans across the room to show the huge condensation vats.

A woman takes a large shiny tin-plate and holds it up for the camera.
Title - The tin plates are cut to size.
The tin plates are fed through a cutting machine by a female worker. There is then a shot of the edges being smoothed.
Title - The body of the tin is shaped and soldered by machinery.
The tins plates travel through a machine which bends the metal into shape and solders it together.
Title - Tops and bottoms of tins are punched out.
A machine punches the tin lids and bottoms, before ejecting them into a container.
Title - Then pressed on to body of tin.
A single shot displays a machine adding the tops and bottoms to the tin body.
Title - ...and finally sterilised and soldered.
The cans run a through a machine.
Title - Tins must be air-tight and are tested on this machine.
Cans are connected to pipes around the edge of a spinning wheel which somehow tests the seal.
Title - After passing this test, tins travel to the automatic filling machine, where they are filled with milk, capped and securely sealed and soldered.
A machine spits out the tins sending then down a metal run, where they are then fed along and filled with milk. The filmmaker then captures a machine that adds the final small lid, before another machine solders it on.

This sequence shows tins being fed along several conveyer belts.
Title - Tins run over gum and pick up the label which is wrapped in one operation.
The tins are fed through another machine which adds the label. A female operator watches over the process.

Boxes are fed along a conveyer belt. The filmmaker then cuts to show a man in white overalls writing the amount of crates on a wooden board; the amount is five hundred crates.
Title - At docks for shipment.
A panoramic view shows a large steam boat docked in a harbour. A close up of a life ring on the boat reveals the boat is called, 'Mantua'. Crates are then wheeled from a warehouse by several employees, who wear black waist coats and flat caps.
Title - Loading on board steamer.
Crates are hoisted by a crane onto the steamer and guided by a worker into the cargo hold.
Title - Milkmaid milk is appreciated by all ages and nationalities.
A shot shows a young girl enjoying milkmaid; displaying the range of age, and several men Asian descent; displaying the range of nationalities.
