This film shows a family enjoying sports and taking a trip to Trossachs in Scotland National Park. The family take part in many activities such as swimming in the indoor swimming pool, cricket matches, rowing on the river in canoes and dinghies. Additionally and while in Trossachs, the family goes sailing on the lake, watches dog racing, and goes to a gymkhana.
In an inside swimming pool children are swimming as three women stand spectating from the top of a balcony. The children swim underwater, backstroke, front crawl and swim in red rubber rings. The two brothers stand on the edge of the pool to dive in and race each other across the pool. Two women, a man, and a boy sit on deck chairs next to a stone wall where they watch a cricket match. The players walk onto the pitch to begin the match. The daughter, who is wearing a red dress, sits next to two women wearing hats. The cricket players walk off the pitch, and there are ball boys who stand at the side of the pitch. The players make their way back onto the pitch for the rest of the game, and at the end of the game, walk off the pitch followed by the ball boys.
Each using one ore, the two brothers row across the river in a red canoe decorated with a yellow Indian. There are haystacks piled up in rows across many fields. The father gets into the red canoe and rows across the river with a double sided ore while the daughter sits in the field with the dog. The father rows back to the riverbank in the canoe, and the two brothers row across the river in the canoe, after which, they sit on the riverbank where they take off their shoes and socks. The father rows across the river in a canoe followed by the two brothers in a dinghy. The brothers sit on the side of the riverbank and then take their canoe out of the water and place it on a metal frame with wheels on the riverbank and load it with the dinghy and cushions.
There are several boats which are sailing on the boating lake. The mother and daughter stand on the side of the riverbank in front of the hotel (Old England Hotel). Following this is footage which contains views of the lake and sailing boats (14). The daughter and the two brothers sit in the boat as they row across the lake, and the daughter casts off a fishing line. The children hold up the fish that they caught. The two brothers row the boat with two ores each past the riverbank where ducks and swans are. A ferry carries a car across the lake, and a speed boat circles an island in the lake. The ferry carrying the car reaches the other side, and then takes two cars and passengers back across the lake. Several boats sail on the lake and moor up at the jetties. This is followed by exterior views of the church and church yard. There is also a mountain and river lined with white pebbles.
The brothers walk from the country road towards the car parked at the side of the road. The black car drives away (HTO 404). From the river, houses can be seen along the bank. Some are hidden by trees as the father rows the boat. The daughter sitting in the boat smiles, puts on her sunglasses, and raises her eye brows. Speed and steam boats sail on the lake, and the two brothers row the boat with an ore each. They stand on the island in the middle of the lake, and after, sit in their boat wearing peaked hats and skimming pebbles on the water. Wearing rain coats, the daughter and brother stand on the stone bridge and look at the waterfalls. Mist and clouds surround the mountains, and there are exteriors and interiors shots of the church building.
Several men stand in a field with hound dogs wearing beige jackets. Spectators gather to watch the dogs being lined up and released for the race, and after which the dogs rest. Spectators gather around an arena watching a gymkhana. The film closes as the family ride horses together in the open fields next to a white house.
