A film from the John Wilkinson collection showing a parade of scouts and other youth groups and the Brookhouse Junior School Open Day of 1964.
The film begins with two boys walking towards the camera in their boy scouts uniforms giving a Scout's salute, followed by a Boy Scout's parade through the streets led by a band. The Boy Scouts are followed by Girl Guides and Boys' Brigade. Then the two boys are playing in their garden with an electric digger with a friend, and then playing football. A sign is shown stating, 'Brookhouse Junior School July 15th 1964 Open Day'. There is a classroom crowded with pupils and parents and then the film switches to the School Assembly Room where the parents watch the children singing. Back in the classroom the parents have at look at the children's work. Outside the children put on a display of maypole dancing (David on the left in white shirt). In the Art Room the class work has been put up on the walls, and outside the two boys show their art work to the camera.
