The film begins with thanks from P Riley and T O Hare to the Centre for the help they gave in making the film. The centre and its surroundings are shown covered in snow. Several young women enter a dormitory room. Elsewhere other youth are playing table tennis and chatting in a reading room. Outside a group are swimming in a heated pool. They are given a demonstration of how to get out of a capsized kayak. Next they are out on a river in kayaks. An instructor shows how to navigate the fast flowing water. They do some exercises, like negotiating a slalom backwards. Back at the Centre they pull a trolley loaded with provisions across a field. They collect wood for a fire and cook. The film switches to show them rock climbing in the rain. They are shown various climbing techniques and how to make the correct knots for the climbing rope.
They are then transported by a minibus to a river where they wash their caving suits. They have another swim in the heated pool before setting off sledging and skiing. This is followed by a walk over upland moorland to some ruins. They return to their jeep with their large rucksacks. Back at the centre they go dancing.
Later, in the summer, a group carries out routine maintenance to some boats. A group of lads mess about for the camera before they are packed up to leave by coach.
