Part of the Wainwright Collection, this is film of the Wainwright family at play in their garden and at Bolton Abbey.
The film opens with an elderly lady who is sitting in a garden. She is dressed up, wearing a hat with a feather, and chatting to another lady who is sitting next to her in a deckchair. A third, younger woman, possibly Joyce Wainwright, is spraying water from a hose pipe over a young girl, probably Hilary Wainwright, and two small boys, one possibly Martin Wainwright. Richard Wainwright takes over the hose pipe.
At Bolton Abbey, there is a foot bridge over the River Wharfe. Hilary and Martin are paddling down by the river and are watched by an elderly woman. The film then switches to a small boy on a beach, before switching again a harbour being filmed from a ship as it comes in to dock.
