Produced for Black History Month by Pishdaad Modaressi Chahardehi for City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council a film in which four Africans who each talk about how they have made Bradford their home and what Black History Month means to each of them. A montage features three of the four individuals featured in this film walking around Bradford near their respective homes: journalist Tatiana Zaituni, community advocate Asumani Susho and radio host Mercy Katola. In voiceover each of them talks about their lives in Bradford, the friends they have made, the foods they like to eat and the communities they have become a part of. As Tatiana and Asumani talk about their love of City Park, Asumani smiling happily as he walks around it. A fourth person entrepreneur Jabu Phiri jumps beside her car before walking around a local shopping centre climbing into a children ride and talking in voiceover about Black History Month being about coming together to celebrate one another and to learn from each other’s cultures. Sitting in the child’s ride hear ear-rings stand out as they read ‘Black Girl Magic’. Sitting on a bench in City Park Asumani talks about Black History Month being for him a chance to reflect on the great achievements of other African people. After Mercy provides details on a Ghanian woman she is going to interview, Jabu talks while driving that for her it is about celebrating black inventors and iconic figures who have made an impact on world history. Returning to Asumani he talks about reading a book on Nelson Mandela and the need for his spirit today during the pandemic in a polarised world. The film ends on a montage of each of the four participants with Asumani telling the director that he is a bit shy on camera. Title: Bradford Everyone. Bradford District.
