The nineteenth of thirty-seven short films produced by documentary filmmaker Tom Harmer as part of the 52Humans project. Filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic and released weekly for a year, in this film a young couple getting married in a small Scottish church with them both reflecting on their relationship and talk about what marriage means to them. Title: This is Strength 19/52 Filmed in slow-motion guests arrive at a small Scottish church followed by the bride and her father. Inside the groom, wearing a traditional Scottish kilt, stands at the alter with his best man waiting on his bride who is being filmed and photographed by family and friends as she walks along the aisle. Standing together at the altar the marriage service takes place with the happy couple signing Marriage Certificates, exchanging rings and kissing before leaving the church. In voiceover the couple talk about how they met, their relationship and what marriage means to them. Outside the church the couple pose, hold hands and kiss. They walk along a path towards an installation of stones overlooking a rural landscape. They come to stand together on one of the stones to kiss and hold each other looking out across the scenery. Title: “Marriage is giving yourself away to someone else.” Pete and Olivia End title: www. 52Humans.com
