The twelfth of thirty-seven short films produced by documentary filmmaker Tom Harmer as part of the 52Humans project. Filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic and released weekly for a year, a film about a young woman who overcame the challenges of being an Epileptic to find love and to talk about what she learned from the experience. Title: Structures Of Life 12/52 As Abbie sits scrolling through photographs of herself as a child, she talks in voiceover about growing up with a disability, not understanding that she was different because of it and how her experiences made her feel degraded as a person. As Abbie walks along a woodland path she talks about her Epilepsy, about her many seizures which can delete parts of her memory. As she looks through more images on her phone of her husband Dave, being pregnant and the birth of her child she talks about the challenges she overcame. Standing with Dave and her daughter she talks about how happy she is when everything goes right. Standings on a hill with the Bradford skyline behind her the film changes to Abbie walking along a path talking about her new outlook on life and how some of the small things in life can become monumental. Title: “Your life stands on the structure of those small things that so often we take for granted.” Abbie End title: www. 52Humans.com
