Sitting on a bench outside a row of terraced houses Davinder Madaher looks through a selection of photographs featuring his mother wearing various coloured sari’s talking in voiceover about how and why he always loved drawing, colours and patterns like his mother.
Another photograph of Davinder as a schoolboy with him talking about being bullied because of his creativity. Now sitting with a mug in his hand, he turns and looks sternly at the camera explaining how the bullying made him more determined to pursue the things he loves.
A clip from Davinder’s Instagram feed changes to him painting a colourful flower in his garden. In voiceover he talks about his creative process working in women’s and home wear and how his art can be translated onto fabric, card ceramic and how what he creates resonates with others.
A montage of images featuring Davinder travelling the world, taking part in presentations followed by clips from his Instagram feed with him talking about how his gift of painting has taken him all over the world, but it is not about the places but the people he meets.
Back on the bench Davinder holds and looks over a vintage quilt explaining that each piece has a story to tell and like people all different, bit all connected through pattern, colour and texture.
