Made for Yorkshire Day a lyrical film produced by Louisa Rose Mackleston that uses a montage of images from around West Yorkshire to express the idea of ‘home’ and what that means to the people of Yorkshire. Beginning with a Yorkshire flag flying from The Hawthorn restaurant in the town of Howarth, a fast-flowing river changes to an old cotton mill with ducks swimming on nearby water. Someone waving from a carriage of a stationary steam locomotive on the Keithley and Worth Valley Railway and the sun peaks through the trees in a wood and a pair of duck swim against the current on a river. Back in Haworth Emma’s Café changes to open moorland around the Yorkshire Dales featuring a misty hill and valley as well as one of the Yorkshire Three Peaks. At Bolton Abbey people enjoying the rural setting with some using the stepping-stones to cross the River Wharfe and a couple sit relaxing in deckchairs near the river’s edge.
