Following a clip from the Yorkshire Television programme ‘Too Long a Winter’ from 1973 Hannah is asked about her life today on her isolated farm and the importance of selling her animals to survive. A selection of photographs is shown to Hannah featuring her working on the farm as she talks about the animals she has as well as her beloved Border collie dog. She talks about still collecting water from a nearby stream and how due to the dry summer having to use a nearby reservoir she names the ‘Mississippi.’
She is asked about her wide and broad outlook on the world and how she keeps in touch with the outside. She talks about how her home and how her mother was an important influence on her life as well as the relevance of books and music she enjoys. The Harry Lime theme from the film ‘The Third Man’ is played as Hannah explains why she likes it so much.
In the final part of the programme, she talks a little about the future and a wish to travel, mainly to Europe and about a recent trip to London to attend the Woman of the Year luncheon at the Savoy Hotel. She ends the programme by stating that she is looking to find the time to enjoy the simple things in life.
