The third episode of this Yorkshire Television series in which presenter Marylyn Webb speaks with important and influential women who are associated with Yorkshire. In this episode she speaks with Helmsley born conductor and musicologist Jane Glover. Title: One Woman In the Yorkshire Television studio presenter Marylyn Webb gives an introduction on her guest Jane Glover who at the time of recording was Britain’s only female professional conductor. The two women discuss why this is the case and the challenges of being a woman in this profession. With the help of a selection of old photographs she talks about her upbring and how she got into music and musicologist becoming an accomplished and respected academic becoming a Senior Research Fellow St Hughes College Oxford. She also provides details with regards a new BBC television series about the orchestra which she researched and wrote as well as a recent trip to China. The interview ends with Jane providing details on her future including a post she will take up in 1984 as Musical Director of the London Mozart Players.
