The film opens with two small children playing with a small wheelbarrow and a pile of stones. Two women then swing the children in a blanket in a garden. Two other children are on a see-saw, and there is a roundabout chair. A small boy, possibly Martin, paints at an easel. Hilary stands in a small bath of water and sprays with her brother with a hose pipe. Later on, they have tea in the garden, with Martin eating a piece of bread and a baby in a chair.
