The first in a new Yorkshire Television series in which presenter Marylyn Webb speaks with important and influential women who are associated with Yorkshire. In this first edition Marylyn speaks with Hull born ballerina Marian St. Claire. Over the course of the programme Marylyn and Marian talk about Marian’s upbring in Hull, how she got into dance, her training in London and the influence on her life by such prima ballerina’s Marie Rambert, whose school she attended, and Ninette de Valois. Marian also talks about how and why she changed her name from Allsopp and provides details on some of the companies and productions she has been involved in. She also talks about her husband Harold King and the London City Ballet Company which the two of them formed. On the table between them a selection of photographs featuring Marian throughout her life which she discusses.
