An amateur film produced by Stephen Gray and filmed between 1982 and 1983 of various journeys along the Keithley and Worth Valley Railway in West Yorkshire. The film features crowds on platforms boarding various steam locomotives, phantom railway journeys to stations such as Oakworth and Oxenhope and a visit to the engine sheds at Haworth. Title: Steamline At Keithley railway station an enamel banner on a wall for the Keithley and Worth Valley Railway. Along the platform passengers waiting for a train while inside others purchase items from concessions stand. With a train now standing on the platform station staff stand beside a passenger coach while the ‘Next Train’ clock reads 1.14pm. Standing around the locomotive trainspotters looking over the British Rail Pacific Class 34092 City of Wells as it prepares to depart. Following the driver and fireman looking out from the cabin the train begins to pull out of the station with many onboard looking out of windows watching it pull away. As the train goes out of view the ‘Next Train’ clock reads 2.10pm for the non-stop to Oxenhope. Back on the platform a second train has arrived this time being pulled by the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) Class K1 62005. Again, spectators look it over as it steams up ready for departure. The train departs and a man onboard takes a photograph of the locomotive. A small crowd gathers on the platform to watch it disappear around a bend. A phantom rail journey from the front carriage featuring both the route of the journey as well as the locomotive pulling the train. Inside passengers seated at tables chatting while watching the world go by. At Oakworth station the train departs as the Station Master closes the crossing gate. A montage of station featuring historic enamel advertising signs around the platform and a trolly holding four large metal milk churns. The Station Master once again opens the crossing gate as a train heading back towards Keithley pulls into the platform. A clock on the wall reads 3.16pm changes to another phantom train journey pulling into another station passing colourful flowers growing on the opposite hillside to the station. With the carriage door open passengers on the platform walk past. Outside the engine sheds at Haworth people walking past various locomotives and carriages being worked on by volunteers. A small shunting engine is steamed up and appears to be pulling a second steam locomotive. A montage of some of the locomotives at the shed with volunteers working on some of them. A small crowd watches as a large crane is reversed slowly past them, the driver at the controls concentrating on his driving. A large crowd gathers on Haworth Station and a passenger train departs, a sign on the Booking Hall wall states the next train is for Keithley. From the footbridge near to the station a train pulls into the platform and passengers climb aboard. Back on the platform a sign gives the destination of the next train as Oxenhope as that locomotive pulls into the platform passing several men taking photographs of it. Before the train comes to a stop a man opens his carriage door and jumps out. From the train as it departs another large crowd on the platform at Haworth changes to another phantom rail journey through the rural countryside before pulling into Oxenhope station. A montage of the station and the crowds passing through it and another train standing on the platform with its carriage doors open. The sequence ends on a young couple walking hand-in-hand along the platform. Back onboard the train the journey continues with passengers onboard chatting as the train passes through another station. Back at Keithley station the British Railways LMT Ivatt Class 41214 locomotive pulls into the platform. The film ends on a montage of that locomotive and the volunteers working on it.
